Fox Creek Bridge, also known as Schoharie Bridge is a replica of a Covered Town Lattice Truss Bridge. This pedestrian only bridge spans the Fox Creek in Schoharie, New York.

About Fox Creek Bridge
It was designed by an Albany, New York native, Gerald Waldbillig and was built in 1982 to connect the last two houses to the Village of Schoharie. It’s not considered a historic covered bridge, because it is built on an arch of concrete. The Covered Bridge portion resembles a Town Lattice Design but it isn’t structural.
Lilly Park
At the end of the Fox Creek Bridge is a public garden where you can sit and have a picnic. (There’s even a grill if you are up to it.) The park is beautifully maintained by the Schoharie Garden Club Members.
There are smaller gardenscapes all around the park (see the Gnome Home below) which are cool to explore. There are also a few narrow short paths to get closer to Fox Creek throughout the north side of the park.
The prime time to visit the park would ideally be during Lilly season (July – August), but even out of season you can see it is well worth the visit. These photos were taken in September as leaves were just starting to turn.

Local Places to Visit
The Apple Barrel Store + Cafe has a great menu with a slew of country gifts to boot. That’s our “go to” for lunch in the area. The Carrot Barn also has a bakery and cafe, and you can buy local produce here as well. I haven’t stopped yet at the Old Stone Fort Museum, but that’s next on my visit list.
